    Workday

    R System Updates

Workday is the university HR system. It can be found at https://workday.osu.edu and you are able to do the following through this website:

    • Update direct deposit accounts as needed
    • View/Download your pay slips
    • View/Download W2s (once released later this month and only if you signed up for electronic delivery)
    • Change/Update your W4 tax withholdings
    • Update preferred email address, personal phone and mailing address

Logging into Workday: Workday uses your HR login information to access the site. This would be your University name.# like smith.1234 or cross.476, in my case... If you need to reset the password for your University username to get into Workday, you can visit https://my.osu.edu or call 614-688-4357. They can also help if you are unsure of what your University username would be. You will also need https://buckeyepass.osu.edu/ to log in. You will need to download an app to your phone or tablet to have a two factor authentication. Please follow the instructions on https://buckeyepass.osu.edu/ to download and register Duo

    Using Workday: Once logged into
https://workday.osu.edu, you will generally click the big “PAY” icon. This will lead you to where you can view those pay slips, tax documents (W2s), payment elections (direct deposit), and withholdings elections (W4 withholdings).

W2 Tax InformationThe end of the year is near!  This means all staff will be issued their W2 form between January 1st and January 31st. As a default upon hire, staff are mailed a W2. However, if you would like to receive your W2 more quickly and not deal with mailing issues, you can opt-in to an electronic W2. Most of you have already done this. If you opted-in to electronic W2s in past years, you don’t have to do anything again, your W2 will be posted online the day that it is ready. To opt-in to an electronic W2 form, login to http://workday.osu.edu and click on Pay, then click on Tax Documents. The first option on that page is where you can Edit your Printing Election and select electronic W2. Please note – we can’t update your W2 election for you. For payroll/W2 questions, contact the Ohio State HR at 614-247-6947.

Did You Move?: If you moved in 2024 (or even before) and did not update your address online, you need to do so soon! Not updating your address with OSU could delay your W2 mailing (if you get a paper copy still) and it can affect your tax withholdings. You can update your address by logging to http://workday.osu.edu, clicking on the person icon, and selecting Contact from the screen. Please note – we can’t update your address for you.

Direct Deposit: Staff have the ability to update/change your direct deposit anytime you wish! If you have changed banks, or just want to adjust how much money is directed into specific bank accounts, you can update your information online through Workday. You will need your University username handy in order to login to http://workday.osu.edu. Once logged in, simply click on Pay and then Payment Elections to update direct deposit. This is also where you can view paystubs and update your tax withholdings. Please note – we can’t update your direct deposit for you.

Pay Stubs: We cannot access your pay stubs or see where your pay has been deposited. If you have a question on your paystub, please ensure you attached a copy to your email communication to us or bring in a screen shot of the paystub so we can assist you. 614-247-6947 is the payroll number in the event you have questions about direct deposit.

    What's Happening at the Schott?

Last year, IASTE, Local 12, filed a petition seeking to represent stagehands at the Schottenstein Center.

As a result, this week, the State Employment Relations Board (SERB) scheduled an election to allow you to vote on whether to have IATSE, Local 12, as your exclusive representative in collective bargaining with the Schottenstein Center.

Who will this effect?  According to the agreement with SERB, Stagehands (including, loaders, up riggers, down riggers, and forklift operators) who’ve worked at the Schottenstein Center an average of 75 hours per year over the past three Fiscal Years or an average of 75 hours in FY 2024, are eligible to vote (approximately 118 stagehands satisfy the eligibility requirements)

What if I do not meet that requirement?  If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, nothing will change for you.  You will not need to vote and any outcome to the election will have no bearing on your employment or work opportunities.

What if I DO meet that requirement?  If you do meet the eligibility requirements, you should plan to vote in the upcoming election.  It also means that we will be required by SERB to verify your address.

Why must you verify my address?  SERB requires address verification to ensure ballots are received by eligible voters. As such, Caleb, Drew, and Julie will be surveying staff members who meet the eligibility requirements to ensure we have your most up-to-date mailing address.

Please respond to Caleb, Drew, or Julie by providing requested information on or before January 10th, 2025, and remember that Caleb, Drew, and Julie are not able to enter your new address into Workday, please fill out the survey here and update your Workday address please

How do I know what is going on and what is going to happen if Local 12 does represent the stagehands?  We know the union’s petition has raised many questions. Schott leaders will be reaching out to you soon to share facts and information. But first we need to update everyone’s mailing addresses.  Watch this website for more information in the coming days!
